The benefits

Benefits of the Spicy Ice Facial

AHAs are widely used to refine the surface of the skin. By encouraging cell renewal, they can help the complexion look brighter and feel smoother. The cooled masque then restores hydration, and the cooling globe massage leaves the skin feeling calm and refreshed.

Most clients notice skin that feels smooth and looks bright and awake by the end of the appointment. Many also enjoy the sensory contrast, which makes this an energising rather than sleepy facial. Results vary from person to person.

The ritual

What is the Spicy Ice Facial?

The Spicy Ice Facial is a professional treatment from Glymed Plus, one of Studio Chique’s skincare partners. It has two halves. The first uses alpha hydroxy acids, often called AHAs, a family of exfoliating ingredients that loosen the bonds between dull surface cells so they can shed more easily. This step usually brings a gentle warming sensation.

The second half cools and calms: a chilled hydrating masque, followed by a massage with cooling globes, smooth chilled tools glided across the face. The contrast is the signature of the treatment.

Who is the Spicy Ice Facial for?

This AHA facial suits you if your skin looks dull, feels rough or uneven, or simply needs to be refreshed. It can also appeal to anyone who enjoys a facial with a distinctive feel.

Because AHAs exfoliate, very sensitive or reactive skin, rosacea, a recent tan or sunburn, and the use of prescription retinoids all call for care, so mention them when you book. For a deeper professional peel from the same line, compare Glymed+ Professional Facial and Peels, or explore our texture and fine lines treatments.

  • Dull or tired-looking skin
  • Rough or uneven texture
  • Skin that needs a refreshing reset
  • Clients who enjoy a sensory facial
  • Anyone wanting brighter, smoother skin
The experience

What to expect during your Spicy Ice Facial

  1. Your appointment lasts about 60 minutes and usually begins with a short conversation about your skin, your routine and any recent treatments. Your skin expert customises the facial from there.

  2. Your skin is cleansed, then the alpha hydroxy acid step is applied. Most clients feel a gentle warmth or tingle while it works, which eases once it is removed.

  3. The cooled hydrating masque follows, then a cooling globe massage across the face and neck. The change from warm to cool is the moment most clients remember.

  4. To finish, a moisturiser and a broad-spectrum sunscreen are applied. Your skin may look slightly pink for a short time, then settles to a smooth, bright finish.

The results

Results and how many sessions

Many clients see smoother, brighter-looking skin after a single treatment. For texture and tone, a series is commonly recommended, often a facial every three to six weeks, with your skin expert adjusting the plan as your skin responds.

Because AHAs can make the skin more sensitive to the sun for a few days, daily sunscreen is essential between visits. Results vary from person to person.

The contrast of warm and cool is also what makes this facial memorable. Many clients describe leaving with skin that feels awake and tingling with freshness rather than sleepy, which makes it a natural choice before an evening out.

What is a Spicy Ice facial?

The alpha hydroxy acid step usually brings a gentle warmth or tingle. The chilled masque and cooling globe massage that follow bring a cool, calming sensation.
