Benefits of Registered Massage Therapy
Massage works on both body and mind. Applied with skill, it can help relieve muscle tension and stiffness and reduce back, neck and shoulder pain, so movement feels easier. Over time, regular sessions may help improve mobility and flexibility.
There is also the quieter benefit of an hour that belongs to you. Massage can promote relaxation and stress relief, support recovery from muscle strain and contribute to your overall sense of well-being. How much you feel, and for how long, varies from person to person.

What is Registered Massage Therapy?
Registered Massage Therapy, often shortened to RMT, is hands-on treatment of the muscles and soft tissues of the body, provided by a licensed Registered Massage Therapist. Unlike a purely relaxing massage, it is shaped by what your body needs on the day: where you feel tight, where you hold tension and how you move.
At Studio Chique, the focus will be on muscle stiffness, back and neck pain, postural discomfort and the everyday tension that builds from desk work, driving, lifting and long days on your feet.

Who is Registered Massage Therapy for?
It may suit you if you carry tension in your neck and shoulders, wake with a stiff back, feel the effects of poor posture or are recovering from everyday muscle strain. It is equally suited to anyone who simply wants to unwind with care and intention.
Massage is not always appropriate. If you have a recent injury, a blood clotting condition, a fever or infection, or a medical condition under treatment, speak with your doctor and tell the studio before booking.

What to expect during your Registered Massage Therapy
Your appointment will typically begin with a short conversation about your health history, the areas that trouble you and the kind of pressure you prefer. This guides how the session is shaped.
You then rest on a padded treatment table, draped throughout so that only the area being worked on is uncovered. Your therapist usually begins with broad, warming strokes before moving into more focused work on tight or tender areas.
Pressure is always adjusted to your comfort, and you are welcome to ask for more or less at any time. Some areas may feel tender, which is common where muscles are tight.
The session closes unhurriedly, with time to rise slowly and a few suggestions for the hours that follow, such as drinking water and moving gently.

Results and how many sessions
Many people feel looser and calmer after a single session. For longstanding stiffness or recurring pain, a series of regular appointments is often more helpful than an occasional visit, and your therapist can suggest a rhythm that fits your needs.
Results vary, and massage works best alongside good posture, movement and rest.
